Dimitri's Interview

Mok downed the last of his strawberry champagne, sighing wearily. It seemed like he had so much to do and so little time to do it. Once this interview process was done, he'd rush off to the nearest beach and do nothing but bum on the sand until the competition started. Oh, just the thought was torture! When the door opened, he waved the man in and told him, "Take a seat, please."

As Dimitri walked inside, he gave the room a bored look, taking his sweet time as he strolled over to his seat and sat down. He quircked an eyebrow at Mok, just givign the older a judging and tired glare before letting out a sigh... and then his whole demanor brightend up.
"So I'm gonna take a wild guess, and say you brought me out of my poorly designed and boring cell to offer me a deal?" he said smiled, looking all happy with no care in the world, as if he wasn't sitting there handcuffed and arrested.

Mok arched an eyebrow at the man's nonchalance as he entered the room. Someone liked putting up a show. Much like him. "You are correct, Mister Ziegler." Mok said, nodding. "The government would like to extend an offer of dropping the charges against you and a nine hundred thousand dollar reward if you win a competition that will last about a year. If you don't win, you will have to serve out your sentence as it stands. Do you accept?"

Dimitri quired an eyebrow at this, leaning back in his seat with and looking a little dissapointed. "Oh really now?" he sighed. "Well that'a a little dissapointing, not even the rewards sound tempting enough," he pouted a little, twirling around in his chair slowly. He had no need of money, and even if he ended up broke he still wouldn't see the big deal of winning the price. "Guess I'll have no choice but to accept, since i'm not in a suicidal mood for the moment," he shrugged, coming to a stop. "If I'm lucky, this little comeption turns out to be more fun than you make it sound."

Mok rolled his eyes. Impudent little man. At least he wouldn't have to deal with Dimitri for long. The contestants would have it harder, though. Mok almost pitied them. "Trust me, it will be fun. There are some...interesting characters that have already signed on before you." Mok assured him, thinking of the ones with worse mental health, particularly Clopin and Aladdin. "You will be allowed one phone call at the start, then one more twenty-seven days later. If you need assistance reaching someone, I will do my best to get to them. You're allowed five items to take with you. An outfit will count as one."

Dimitri's head turned up, and for the first time since stepping inside the room looked Mok in the eye. "Well why didn't you say so?" he grinned, excitement along with something else glinting in eyes as he sat up straight in his seat. "I do hope it's people with mental issues, they're always entertaining, each in their own way," he chuckled. He didn't seem to care much when Mok mentioned about being allowed  phone calls. If the competition turned out be entertaining enough, he wouldn't feel the need to call anyone.
"Oh how very generous of you," he mocked.

Mok rolled his eyes at Dimitri's mocking tone. "Yes, I am. I'm a saint--an angel, really. My halo's just in the wash at the moment." Two could play that game. "And some of your fellows will have a few mental health problems, some quite severe. Try not to egg them on too much, I'd hate to have to restrain them before they kill anyone. Makes for bad TV." Bad TV was something he simply didn't do. Never in the thirty years he'd been host had there been a bad season, and he wasn't looking to change that. "There will be no killing, but you can injure others during the challenges as sabotage is allowed."

Dimitri mimicked the older and rolls his eyes too. "Must be taking a good while cleaning it, with all that filth on it," he smirked. He straightend up on his seat and laid he elbows on the table, his expression turning more smug. "It shows you've been working with this for a good while old timer, and not only beacuse of your face," he said flatly. "Having a hard time keeping up with time, and the changces along with it? People are sadists at heart, and enjoys watching bad things happen, enjoys getting scared and shocked, beacuse it excites them," his smirk turned darker. "There's no better excitment than death."He leaned slightly towoards Mok as he spoke. "Why else do you think your show is so popular? Beacuse people gets injured in it. And that's ok for the veiwers, beacuse all the comptitors have been stamped as 'bad people,' by society. It makes them feel better enjoying watching them get tortured, since they deserve it."

Mok resisted the temptation to smash his face against the surface of his desk. Truly, this man's arrogance outshone his and that was no small feat. Did he really think he was the first to realize these things about people? Did he think he was the only one? "Congratulations, Captain Obvious." Mok huffed, "Your powers of observation are truly stunning!"

And just like that, Dimitri's whole demeanor dropped back into a bored and disappointing one, slumping back in his chair. "That's it?" he sighed, glaring a little at the older. "That's the only thing you can come up to respond with? I thought I'd have my teeth kicked in or face slammed down on the table," he sighed, pushing the chair back far enough for him to place his feet on the table. "After acting all annoying and pointing out something so damn obvious, I was expecting a more fun reaction. You're really boring in person, Mok," he pouted.

"What? And deny one of your fellow contestants the pleasure of the first shot?" Mok said in a fake shocked tone, "I told you, I'm a generous sort." Besides, he wasn't going to be played in his own office. "Now, do you have any questions before Thelonious escorts you out?"
